BoxCryptor – On-the-fly Encryption for cloud storage

Link

BoxCryptor is a free tool that secures your data in the cloud – no matter if you use Dropbox, SkyDrive, Google Drive or any other cloud storage provider. It does so on OSX, iOS, Linunx, Android, Windows and even Windows RT.

BoxCryptor works by on the fly encrypting all data that you place in a dedicated folder resp. network mount before it’s synced to the cloud. It uses the AES-256 standard for encryption.

TextMate Becomes Open Source

My favourite Mac-OS-X text editor just became Open Source. Developer Allan Odgaard announced this in a blog post. The sources of version 2 of TextMate that are still considered Alpha are now available on Github.

The choice of license is GPL 3 for now.  Anything related to the code base, including contributions, can be discussed at the textmate-dev list or #textmate on freenode.net.
